ARDAAS

The practice of 'Ardaas' which is one of the elements of Sikh way of prayer is an essential part of the Sikh religion Ardaas is usually recited after the morning and the evening prayer or at any other ceremony which needs a religions touch. It can be recited individually or in a congregation. Sant Inderjeet Singh Ji teaches his devotees how to perform 'Ardaas'.

'Ardaas' is a means of ridding the mind of its ills and desires and filling it with pure thoughts and noble aspirations. True prayer requires an effort of heart searching, an effort to become more pure and noble.

The 'Ardaas' demands a complete surrender to divine will. Resignation to the will of God will ultimately benefit the individual. Only then can God take up his problems and sort them out. The Lord will never fail him who throws himself on his Mercy. Moreover, this submission eliminates the ego, the wall which stands between man and his creator.

'Ardaas' is a basic religious activity in Sikh Religion. At the same time it is a capsule in which Sikh history and traditions have been enshrined in humility, we daily stand up and pray before 'Waheguru' to grant us boon to remain ever steadfast in the sacred cause of the last hair of our body, to last breadth.

The remembrance of God - Naam marg is the essence of Sikhism. . . .
